Alisa Mandrigin

My research is in the philosophy of mind and psychology, with a focus on perceptual experience, the senses and bodily awareness. I'm also interested in self-consciousness, first-person thought and the philosophy of action.
Before working as a postdoctoral researcher in Philosophy and Psychology at the University of Stirling, I held postdoctoral research positions at the Universities of Barcelona and Warwick. Whilst at Warwick I was a postdoctoral researcher on the Rethinking the Senses project. I completed my PhD in philosophy at the University of Edinburgh with a thesis titled 'The concept of self: thinking of oneself as a subject of thought'.
In 2016/2017 I ran the Early Career Mind Network project, which was funded by a British Academy Rising Star Engagement Award 2016/17.
Between 2011 and 2013 I was a member of The (Un)Bound Body Project: Exploring the constraints of embodiment and the limits of body representation, funded by VolkswagenStiftung European Platform for the Life Sciences, Mind Sciences and the Humanities.
